Calli House (Casa Calli) is a renovated house in Mexico City. The transformation explores the idea of the warmth that a home provides. In its original state, the house had several issues, such as dark living spaces and a general coolness that made it uncomfortable, especially during the winter season. Therefore, the most drastic changes were implemented to bring light, warmth, and comfort to the renovated building.
Most of the original structure was kept intact, focusing on the possibilities of the existing shape of the house. New windows were opened to the south to provide light to key areas, while a double brick wall was built on the façade to enhance sound insulation and thermal properties.
