Data Studio

Data is a studio specializing in exhibit documentation photography, led by Erik López. Initially, Erik worked independently but soon expanded into a small team. This growth created the need to update their identity to reflect a more studio-oriented appearance. We used this as a starting point to develop a new identity that represents their current level of experience. While some elements of the previous identity were retained, many aspects were created from scratch, including the studio’s name.

The approach to Data’s identity considers a contemporary perspective on exhibit registration, offering a discreet yet purposeful expression. The various graphic elements often serve dual roles: acting as a neutral container or an intentional frame. This challenges the notion that documentation should remain invisible, revealing only the pure state of the artwork. Instead, it suggests that recording a piece of art adds an additional layer of meaning.
