Day of the Dead Icons

Day of the Dead (Día de Muertos) is an ancient and colorful Mexican festivity. To honor this tradition, we created a set of icons offering a reinterpreted contemporary vision of the common elements of the altars (ofrendas). Once the set was created, we decided to produce three-ink screenprinted small posters—functioning as infographics—to express the meaning of each element. Other possible applications for the icons were also considered in this project.
